There is no image of everyday city life in Africa reported in the local media. The post-colonial European influence is a part of reality in African cities, which is only reported to us fragmentarily and extremely selectively. Christine Meisner in her work "reality without guarantees" deals with possibilities for representation of urban African reality in the form of drawings, videos and texts from the cities Lagos, Yamoussourkro and Abidjan. This is confronted with the inscription of European stereotypes in the architecture and, in the process of recording, with the conventions of our own, European view.
