Interviews which the artists collective "the trinity session" carried
out with artists and cultural producers who lived in Johannesburg
before going abroad, show that not least in the brain drain of city
cultural and intellectual milieus which even move from the newly
democratised South Africa in the direction of Europe and North
America, which mirror historical drawing power which the (post)colonial
centrum of the imperial periphery radiates up to the present day. From
their exhaustive interviews the trinity session forms a multi layered
image of the city into a collage. Which finds itself in an extreme,
sometimes brutal process of change since the end of apartheid.
